Why We Started Little Women — And Why It Took Far Too Long To Happen

The story of a gap in the market, a lot of frustration, and a decision to just do something about it.

Little Women Brand

Every brand starts with a problem. Ours started with a drawer full of lingerie that didn't fit.

If you're a petite woman, you probably know the feeling. You find something beautiful. You try it on. The band is too long, the straps fall off, the cups sit wrong. You buy it anyway - because what choice do you have? - and it sits in your drawer, worn occasionally but never quite right.

We got tired of that. We got tired of it for ourselves, and we got tired of hearing the same story from friends, family, and strangers on the internet. So we decided to do something about it.

We didn't start Little Women to fill a gap in the market. We started it because we genuinely believed petite women deserved better.

The research that shocked us

Before we designed a single piece, we spent a long time listening. We spoke to hundreds of petite women about their experiences with lingerie - what frustrated them, what they wished existed, what they'd tried and given up on.

The stories were remarkably consistent. Years of ill-fitting bras. Straps that wouldn't stay up no matter how tightly adjusted. Underwires that dug in because they were simply too wide. Cups that gaped. Bands that rode up. And underneath all of it, a quiet resignation: this is just how it is for someone like me.

It broke our hearts a little. And it made us more determined than ever.

What "designed for petite" actually means to us

Lots of brands offer "petite" ranges. In many cases, that means the same garments in smaller sizes - which isn't the same thing at all.

When we say our lingerie is designed for petite women, we mean it starts from scratch with a petite body in mind. Shorter underwire spans. Narrower strap placements. Shorter torso lengths. Longer straps to fit an adult. Cup shapes that are proportioned for smaller frames, not scaled down from larger ones.

What makes Little Women different

  • Every style is developed on petite fit models from the very first toile
  • We offer band sizes from 30" - not as an afterthought, but as a core size
  • Our cup shapes are designed for petite proportions, not scaled down from larger styles
  • We test every piece across multiple petite body types before it reaches you
  • Our customer service team are experts in petite fit - they genuinely love helping

The community that keeps us going

The most wonderful part of building Little Women has been the community that's grown around it. Women sharing their fit wins. Recommending styles to each other. Telling us - sometimes with real emotion - that finding us changed how they feel about getting dressed every day.

That's not something we take lightly. We know that lingerie is personal. It's intimate. It touches (quite literally) on how you feel about your own body. We hold that responsibility carefully.

We are a small brand with a big belief: that every woman deserves lingerie that fits her, flatters her, and makes her feel exactly like herself. Not a version of herself that the industry has decided is the right size. Herself.

That's why we started Little Women. And it's why we're not stopping anytime soon.
