Check Your Breasts
Share
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a great reminder to take care of yourself and the women around you.
Early detection saves lives, and one of the simplest ways to stay aware is by doing regular checks on your breasts.
How to Check Your Breasts
Look In The Mirror
With your shoulders straight and hands on your hips, check for changes in size, shape, or color.
Look for dimpling, puckering, redness, or any unusual changes.

Raise Your Arms
Check again for the same signs.

Feel Whilst Lying Down
Use your right hand to feel your left breast and vice versa.
Use small circular motions with the pads of your fingers, covering the entire breast from top to bottom, side to side.
Top Tip: Many people find it easier to feel changes when the skin is wet and slippery.

If you notice a lump, discharge, or any changes, don’t panic.
Most lumps are not cancerous. But it’s important to book an appointment with your doctor to be sure.
Taking a few minutes for your body makes all the difference.
