Autumn Trends 2018
5th October 2018
At Little Women we pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve when it comes to fashion, so we watched the catwalks of New York, London, Paris and Milan with great interest.
Here we’ve highlighted not just some of our own fabulous bras and lingerie, especially crafted for women with smaller boobs, but also some top picks from our favourite online accessory retailer, www.taylorandjackson.com. Together, we bring you the hottest of hot fashion, colour and fabric trends for Autumn 2018.
It’s all about autumn, this autumn! Sounds obvious? Well, it really is! One of Mother Nature’s most spectacular shows has made it to the catwalks of global fashion weeks and it’s making an equally spectacular show there too. Here’s what to look out for…
Varying hues of seasonal reds will be everywhere this autumn. Pantone 19-1536 Red Pear is more plum, in our opinion, but delicious either way.
More reds from autumn, for autumn. Valiant Poppy Pantone 18-1549 will proof poignant and popular as we mark 100 years since the end of WW1.
Rock the Valiant Poppy trend with our striking Sadie Bra!
Pantone 15-0850 is the vibrant and juicy Ceylon Yellow. It will feature in accent colours and especially in accessories such as scarves and bags.
The Pantone 15-0625 Martini Olive is another example of the autumnal shades inspired by trees and their fruits. Delicious!
Russet Orange in Pantone 16-1255 is one of the brightest colours of Autumn 2018. Frankly, we can’t see anything russet in this Pantone, but we love it’s zing!
We had to laugh when we saw the name of Pantone 16-1438…Meerkat! A big player on the autumn nature inspired trend, it is a stunning shade of brown. As animal lovers you can be sure that no meerkats will be harmed when we adopt this colour trend!
Following on from the nature inspired trends in colour Pantones, further trends will be inspired by nature, but these will come from the animal kingdom. Everything from the big cats, antelopes, zebras, giraffes and snakes will appear on the catwalks and so in your wardrobe and lingerie drawers soon. Expect a totally unnatural zing of colour for a twist on what nature has to offer!
The Dasha Handbag by Barada is a must-have fierce yet, fashionable accessory this season!
Tweeds and Tartans
Again, nature is playing a role in this trend as wool is the chief fabric to look out for when it comes to tweeds and tartans. From gloves to scarves, coats to capes, bags to shoes this trend will be weaving its way onto the high street imminently.
We love the Nairn Small Harris Tweed Tote bag by Boldrini Selleria for getting this trend!
Drape a Cape
The cape is THE outdoor trend of the autumn and everyone who is anyone will be draping a cape about themselves. Every fabric from blanket inspired wools to tartan, Burberry-esque mac style capes to sci-fi inspired silvers.
This stunning Zara Wrap by Powder is an affordable way to wrap up and rock the trends straight off the catwalk this season!
The Empowerment trend meets the Slogan trend
Following in the wake of the #MeToo movement, designers at fashion weeks created ‘empowerment dressing’ with hard edges, hemlines and shoulder pads. Add in the slogan trend and you’ve a stylish walking statement - ALL women should wear whatever makes them comfortable and confident, not objectified.
This is one of our favourite trends, as we at Little Women have long been advocates of female empowerment and body positivity. Long may it reign!
